ON THE COUCH: Week 9 NFL TV Listings for Eastern Iowa

This weekend marks the halfway point of the 2009 NFL regular season. And as Sunday’s listings for Eastern Iowa suggest, the focus turns to teams who have a shot at the playoffs. Here’s the lineup for Eastern Iowa:

  • Arizona (4-3) at Chicago (4-3), noon on KFXA Ch. 28. Between this and Packers-Buccaneers, this appears to be the better game involving a regional team. Announcers: Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
  • Miami (3-4) at New England (5-2), noon on KGAN Ch. 2. Not a bad game, but if you’re not going to show Kansas City–and you shouldn’t–I’d rather see 5-2 Cincinnati and 4-3 Baltimore in this slot. Announcers: Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf.
  • San Diego (4-3) at N.Y. Giants (5-3), 3:15 p.m. on KGAN Ch. 2. Another decent matchup, but CBS could have done better and gone with the other Manning for the national late game (Peyton’s undefeated Colts host the 5-3 Texans in an AFC South showdown at noon). Announcers: Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.
