On the evening of December 19, 1979, Michelle Martinko was stabbed at Westdale Mall. The latest update from Cedar Rapids Police that we could find is this:

“With new technology, the Cedar Rapids Police Department now has the DNA of the suspect. We are looking for anyone that remembers someone who would have had a cut on his hand at that time. If you provide information leading to the arrest of this subject, you could received up to a $10,000 reward. ALL CALLERS REMAIN ANONYMOUS.”
