Johnson County/Iowa City Senior Center: Caregiver Stress Workshops Offered
Providing care for a terminally ill (e.g. dementia, cancer, etc.) family member or loved one on a daily basis may cause feelings ranging from joy, anger, helplessness, guilt, worry or isolation. In addition, the physical demands can lead to fatigue or illness of the caregiver. It is important for caregivers to have support while caring for another person. If you would like to learn more about caregiver stress and ways to cope, this informative workshop is for you. These workshops are free and open to the public of all ages.
The presenter is Rebecca Riley, LISW and a doctoral student in counseling psychology at the University of Iowa. Rebecca also provides free one-on-one counseling to adults 50 years of age and over at the Senior Center.
