Wrestling Preview: Iowa vs. Oklahoma State
Tuesday, January 12th, 2010Iowa (13-0) will host #4 Oklahoma State (8-0-1) Saturday at 7 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. It is a “Gold Rush” event, where fans are encouraged to wear gold attire to the meet.
The Hawkeyes have won their last 51 dual matches, which is a school record. The current streak started with a win over Cornell (32-3) on Jan. 12, 2008, which was the first match after Iowa lost to Oklahoma State (19-14) on Jan. 5.
Iowa has also won its last 20 duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. That streak, which ranks fourth in school history, started with a 27-13 win over Penn State on Jan. 20, 2008, which was also the first home match after the Jan. 5 loss to the Cowboys.
The Hawkeyes have won 36 consecutive duals on the road, which is also a school record. That streak started with a 20-13 win at Iowa State on Dec. 9, 2007.
