Forget about Bad News

I recently read a tale on BBC News’ international website in regards to a town called Bend within Oregon.

The article described the way the town had boomed being an upmarket resort and desirable retirement location throughout the boom years which preceded the planet economic setback which were only available in September 2009. In image detail, the writer reported how the once highly-upmarket residential developments are actually pockmarked with half-built covers, abandoned construction equipment as well as dusty weeded-over empty plenty. The writer described what sort of once wealthy construction business proprietor, who had owned three houses in the height of the growth, was now living inside a homeless shelter.

It’s not the very first article of its kind which i have read during the last few months. Indeed, news websites happen to be chronicling ordinary people’s struggles in gory detail for months at a time. It seems, as usually, bad news makes a great story. By comparison, feel good stories are few in number – how people tend to be rising above their economic woes is nearly invisible in the press. What kind of ill minds repeatedly want us to take disturbing information about actual people’s problems? You may find that question just a little “in your face” but the issue is, from a long-term study from the way society works, constantly feeding us poor news exerts a way of measuring control on us — in consuming constant damaging reportage, we subliminally self-satisfy ourselves that people are OK – we are “not too bad” – so there is no point in trying to increase above that normal degree of “not-too-bad” – we might be worse off.

I don’t say this as some type of throwaway remark – psychological research during the last hundred years has investigated, in depth, the extent to that societal norms make normal people people. Indeed, when asking the question regarding the kind of sick minds that desire to constantly feed us damaging news, the question might become more appropriately put – what type of sick minds constantly wish to feed off other individuals bad news? What type of people take delight within reading the dirty gossip on those within the public eye? What type of sick minds watch the “reality” Television shows about road rage, neighbors from hell…? I could just on.

The answer to any or all those questions is merely “Normal People”. Normal individuals are simply those that follow the norms of culture. You might think that this can be a good thing – certainly otherwise we’d have mayhem and anarchy. But it’s a bad thing. A few scientific facts enables me elaborate. Normal people use almost none of the mental capacity – it’s estimated, in fact, that normal people only use 1% of the mental capability. Normal people only perceive what they be prepared to perceive. Given that they’re constantly fed negative information and how other normal individuals are living, their field of perception is constrained to some very narrow focus — one where nothing magnificent will ever happen within their lives. Normal people act and react automatically, depending on their internal conditioning, that was “programmed” into their unconscious, during their formative many years, by their immediate group – parents, peers, instructors, etc – and by society generally. In other words, we’ve been normalised right from the term go – when all of us were young and impressionable.

This is normality – this is actually the mass market for damaging news. That negative news reinforces the actual perception that “I might be worse and not too bad is adequate! ” It’s not. Why live the life span of an automaton — where your actions as well as beliefs bear the horrible sameness of everybody else? Where your actions are driven with a subconscious mind which is concentrated in your formative many years, living out a life that’s full of self-fulfilling prophecies in line with the beliefs that were foisted on you when you couldn’t make your choice for yourself? Why choose that type of life – why choose to not be spectacularly happy as well as successful? Because you possess a choice.

As a developed adult, you can either take responsibility for your own personel state of mind or you are able to stay normal. You can decide in order to tear your inner mind’s attention from your formative programming – the end result will be that you’ll stop reacting like all normal people and you’ll start acting. Your actions depends on what you feel is better for you – as well as, believe you me, from having worked along with hundreds of clients during the last fourteen years, best for you personally bears no comparison towards the normal not too poor. This means that you can begin having an abnormally prosperous and happy life — like all abnormally prosperous people, some of whom tend to be so abnormally successful that everyone knows their names. Why? They stand out of the crowd. You, too, can stand out of the crowd.

You, too, is capable of extraordinary success – inside your business or career, within sports, in your individual life, financially and within real relationships. All you need to do is use more than 1% of the mental capacity. As We already said, tear your mind’s attention from the past – to the present. Yes, it’s that easy. Train your mind to pay for more than 1% attention to the current moment and you gain control of the kind of mental power that my personal clients describe as “life-changing”. Focus on the present moment making use of your five senses – each and every morning, before you start your entire day, take five to fifteen minutes to determine, feel, hear, smell and taste where you stand – you will, eventually, smell the sweet odor of success.
